VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
A
conversation is held with each possible volunteer to determine
their skills and interest. This makes it possible for each
person to volunteer in an area that is most fulfilling and
rewarding to him or her. Volunteers are essential to the Tender
Life Ministry and there are never too many. People can give
of their time by volunteering to provide transportation, provide
baby-sitting, teaching a craft or cooking class; teaching
a bible study class, assisting in the office, being a companion
to one of the residents, providing meals etc. Meals can be
provided once a month, once a week; for 20 or for 3, depending
on the volunteer’s wishes.
If it’s not possible or convenient for
a person to give of their time there are additional ways to
make life easier for the families within the Tender Life program.
These include: providing money-off coupons, utilizing the
many “buy one, get one free” ads from local grocery
stores (you use one and donate the other to Tender Life);
making a monetary donation; donating educational toys, books,
puzzles, donating new or lovingly worn baby or toddler clothing;
donating paper items (paper towels, toilet tissue, Kleenex,
etc.); utilizing the Albertson’s Community Partners
Card; providing gift cards to Blockbuster, Barnes & Nobles,
Vons, Etc.
New volunteers and new ways to volunteer are
encouraged and welcomed.
“There are those who have little
and give it all. These are the believers in life and the bounty
of life and their coffers are never empty.”
Kahil Gibran: (The Prophet)
